Utilizing original and vintage surface pattern designs from my 40 year career as a textile designer, I created this mixed media portrait of my soulmate of 52 years during one of our travel adventures. Jeffrey is seated with our luggage in Florence awaiting a boat to take us to Venice. The background and his features are painted in acrylics. He's pensive, tired and hungry from our journey and I photographed him in this dour mood. I finally decided to create this collage of him some 40 years later.
