This canvas is a mandala, woven from the Georgian medieval epic poem The Knight in the Panther’s Skin, written in the 12th century. It is formed of 157,834 brushstrokes carrying 336,676 symbols of the poem. The entire text was first compressed into 78,917 encoded symbols, then inscribed stroke by stroke into the canvas. With svg file and corresponding text key it decodes to full Georgian poem.
