At exhibition with Turquoise Discipline II – Claudia

“COLOR DISCIPLINE is not a style. It is a method of seeing.”

I work within self-imposed constraints — and find freedom there.

Each series begins with a single decision: one color world. Everything that follows — value structure, edge hierarchy, focal point — emerges from that commitment. Not decoration. Discipline.

My process moves through three stages. A photograph is taken, reduced to black and white — stripped of color, only structure remains. Then I recode it: a manual color study built from a palette I mix myself, without AI, without shortcuts. Finally the painting — acrylic on canvas, where the decisions made in the previous two steps are either confirmed or challenged.

The result is always three autonomous works. They share a motif. They do not share a meaning.

“That dual quality — immediate visual authority at distance, revealed complexity at close range — is a difficult thing to achieve and a reliable mark of genuine painting intelligence.”

Despina Tunberg, Curator  ·  World Wide Art & Artavita

Florschuetz’s compositions resonate from afar with bold coherence and reward close inspection with layered nuance — treating color not as embellishment but as a structural framework.

Viola Florschuetz is a Germany-based painter working in acrylic on canvas. Under the artist identity Viola Florschuetz ART, she develops the COLOR DISCIPLINE series — a body of work defined by radical chromatic reduction and a rigorous three-stage process called Frame2Canvas.

Each painting within COLOR DISCIPLINE belongs to one of three color worlds: Red, Turquoise, or Aqua Discipline. Within these worlds she explores portraiture, the figure, and the tension between photographic origin and painterly transformation.

Florschuetz works in close collaboration with RVFphotoART, whose black-and-white photography provides the starting point for every Frame2Canvas cycle. The collaboration operates under the dual identity RVFphotoART × Viola Florschuetz ART.
