I painted the Canadian goose because its presence speaks deeply to me. The way it carries itself—with quiet strength and dignity—mirrors the resilience of the immigrant experience. For me, the goose is more than a bird; it is a symbol of hope and perseverance. As it journeys across great distances, the Canadian goose endures hardships yet continues forward with unwavering determination. This inspires me, and I hope it inspires others, to stay strong and keep hope alive even in the face of challenges. Its confident, free-flying spirit reminds us to remain focused on our own journeys, no matter the obstacles. To me, the Canadian goose also reflects the beauty of diversity. Each bird in the flock has its own role, just as every person contributes uniquely to the heritage of a country. As an immigrant, I see in the goose a powerful reminder that we are all valuable, connected, and part of something greater.
